HMG

Description

HMG, or Human Menopausal Gonadotropin, is a unique hormonal preparation that contains both FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone). These are two essential gonadotropins responsible for regulating reproductive function in both men and women. Originally extracted from the urine of postmenopausal women, modern forms of HMG are now also produced with advanced biotechnological methods.

Application in Sports

In athletics and bodybuilding, HMG is not a mainstream performance enhancer, but it is sometimes used in post-cycle therapy (PCT) or hormone management:

• Stimulates natural testosterone production in men by acting on the testes (through LH and FSH activity).

• May be used after anabolic steroid cycles to restore fertility or restart spermatogenesis, especially when strong suppression has occurred.

• Sometimes considered as an alternative or complement to hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin).

However, its use in sport is rare compared to hCG or SERMs like Clomiphene, because HMG is expensive and harder to obtain.

Applications Outside Sport

So, aside from bodybuilding or hormone recovery use, HMG is primarily a fertility drug:

• Helps women conceive naturally or through IVF

• Helps men with low sperm count or poor fertility restore reproductive function
